The Environment As Our Reflection
Right from our childhood, we start to acquire a sense of identity.
This is hugely fashioned by our family, culture, religion, upbringing etc. This identity that we understand fashions our values and beliefs which in turn is responsible for us developing our competencies and strategies that we employ to engage the world. This is the base of our behavior and what we believe we are.
However, we also periodically observe people in our environment wh
o perceive us in a completely different fashion. Our standard response is to defend ourselves. As therapists, perhaps a deeper introspection is warranted. When others see in us what we cannot see in ourselves, they are merely reflecting something in our energy that they are unconsciously picking up and of which we have no clue. The value of this science is to understand that we are all sometimes conscious and mostly unconscious masters of our destiny. People perceiving us differently is the Universe’ way of leading us to contemplate or introspect something hidden in us which is now subtly revealing itself for us to heal. Our chosen path is an incessant movement from ignorance to awareness.
Happy Healings!
